Check out Spotify For Artists Guide if you are an artist [2023]

Spotify has no doubt been one of the most influential players in the streaming music business and has been an excellent friend to musicians worldwide (signed and unsigned). We think Spotify has one of the most powerful tools in the industry for artists, Spotify For Artists, and that is why we were so impressed with it.
One of the major online retailers we distribute to is Spotify. To help artists understand how well their releases are performing from day one, we also gather relevant trend data from Spotify, which is displayed on each artist’s account under “Stats & Activity.” If you release your song on Spinnup, all you have to do is wait a day, and the data will start appearing in your Spinnup account.
Spotify has evolved not only as a music service but also as a tech company, which is why we have put together a little resource that we hope will assist in understanding Spotify For Artists. This resource will be updated regularly as new features are added to the service.

What is Spotify

The steps you need to take to claim your Spotify for Artists account

Getting your Spotify for Artists profile up and running is an extremely straightforward process. If you wish to get started, first go to artists.spotify.com, where you will have the option of choosing “Get Access.”.

Please enter your name in the search box after hitting “continue.”

When you have found the artist profile you wish to manage, log into your account or create one for this purpose to manage it more easily.

Please click “Yes, I would like to claim it” and then “Yes, I would like to continue.”

You must follow the steps that have been provided. To verify your identity, you will need to link your social media profile to your website, Twitter account, or Instagram account. You will receive a response from the Spotify team within three days of submitting your submission.

You can log in to the Spotify for Artists page once you receive the email notification by clicking “Log in” on the page. Once you have authenticated, you will be able to access “Your Dashboard” to manage your Spotify profile immediately.

Friend verification is no longer required to apply for verification until you have 250 followers; as soon as you reach 25, you can apply. Instead, now all you need to do is access Spotify for Artists!

You can access Spotify for artists if you aren’t already a subscriber. If you are already a subscriber, simply click here to get access to your account.

If you already have a blue checkmark on your profile, don’t worry; you will not need to take any additional steps to keep that tick. Due to the new verification system, you will be able to add and remove playlists from your profile using Spotify for Artists while creating and editing playlists through your account.

Is there any implications for existing verified artists as a result of this?

Your verification will remain intact, and you will be able to access all of your playlists.

• Spotify for Artists will now let you create, edit, and delete playlists, but you will create and remove them the same way you did before, from your account, as before.

If you are currently using Fan Insights, you will need to switch to Spotify for Artists.

Is it possible for me to not be verified?

• Verification is extremely easy. You only need to gain access to Spotify for Artists; no more need to collect 250 followers!

Adding and removing playlists will be required in Spotify for Artists, but you will be able to create and edit playlists within your personal Spotify account.

Please be patient; it may be a few weeks before you see a blue tick on your profile.

Biographical information about the artist

With a Spotify artist profile that has been verified as authentic, you can edit your public profile freely. You can now update your artist image as often as you change your outfit, so you don’t have to get your creative hats on, but it does sound like it would be a lot of work, but each to their own. Furthermore, you can show your fans what music you’re jamming to by selecting your favorite music in your profile’s ‘artist’s pick’ section and adding your playlist to the profile-either one you’ve created or selected yourself to share with your fans.

What should be the first thing you do? Write your biography. It is also important to convey your personality, sense of humor, or creativity to the fans and let them know more about you and your band. Don’t take yourself too seriously, but don’t overdo it either!

Caribou, the electronic musician, keeps the bio short and sweet, but at the same time, it adds a lot of love!

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to edit your bio as an artist:

Please be sure to scroll down to ‘Artist Bio’ in your Spotify For Artists account.

You might want to consider writing your amazing, brilliant, creative, thoughtful bio within a 1500 word limit or less.

You can add links to Spotify playlists, your tracks, the tracks you feature on, and your music too! If you want to search for playlists, artists, or albums, you can just type the @ symbol in the search box.

It’s easy to add a link to your Wikipedia page if you have one (if you don’t, please create one!). It’s free and easy!), and you can add that to this page as well.

Add an image gallery to your profile to make it more attractive.

Starting March 1, 2021, Spotify will be introducing a brand new feature that will allow artists to customize the look of their Spotify profile even further. Once logged into your Spotify for Artists account, you will find a Profile” option under Tools in the left-hand menu. This will allow you to edit any information on your Spotify artist page just as you would with any other. As you can see, you can now add as many photos as you like above where you are entering your bio! This could include official artist images, studios where you work on making music, or images from the road where you perform live – h options are endless! You can share more about what you’re doing with your fans thrthrucial media and get to know them better. The Spotify for Artists mobile app allows you to edit your gallery.

We have several team members on our team.

As a result, the Spotify for Artists feature was added to Spotify in September 2020, and as a result, artists can now add their team members to their Spotify accounts. Performing as a musician is a difficult business, and you will find that having a strong team of supportive people around you can lead to the success you seek! Consequently, as soon as your team has access to your data and profile, they will be able to assist you even more in the future.

Team members can access Spotify for artists at three different levels. Each level has its own set of privileges: “Team Members have access to Spotify For Artists at three different levels:”

Users with unlimited access to your portfolio will be able to see your artists’ profiles, see their stats, and see the invitations and edits of your team members if you grant access to everyone in your portfolio.

RecoRecommended: Anyone working with musicians, managers, record labels, and publicists.

Edit Access: These users can update your artist profile, view streaming stats, invite new members to the team who can edit or view their profiles, and review both the artists’ and the team members’ contact information.

A great resource for booking agents, promoters, and publicists. He can only see your streaming stats if he has access to them.

recommend it to producers and co-producers .

What is the process for adding teammates to my account?

If you sign up for Spotify For Artists, logging into your account and clicking the arrow to the right of your name is all you have to do to add members to your team. You will then be redirected to a page where you will be able to enter the email addresses of the lucky few to whom you will permit access and decide to what degree you would like to restrict access to them.

The data from Spotify can be found here.

We at Spinnup aren’t shy about the fact that we enjoy data a lot and like to collect it. To give our artists the best possible experience, we were delighted to hear that Spotify will be adding even more data and analytics to its Spotify For Artists platform in the future. There’s a lot more info about it here, as well as a breakdown of what you can expect from your own SFA account if you follow the link below.

• You will see all of your song statistics —

There is no longer a requirement for you to earn 1000 streams to see your data; it will now be available for all 200 of the songs you have streamed the most. Do you not have 200 songs yet? Are you still interested? The good news is you can earn them now. All you have to do is a record!

You will be able to filter your data by viewing it over 7 days, 28 days (so 4 weeks, really), or two years in the future. This is a very useful resource since it allows you to see whether any major pushes (for instance, a PR cycle, a specific gig, or a social media campaign) have impacted both your fans and your streams.

You need to keep an eye on your follower count because your followers are some of your real super fans who are so in love with your music that they want to be notified every time you release a new track. Having a Follower Timeline in your SFA account will allow you to track and hopefully grow the number of your followers in your account. If you have more followers, you will have more fans, and you will stream more.

As a songwriter for tracks you have written and performed on, you can now be credited publicly alongside someone who has added songs to your performance.

A new study published by Spotify in May 2020 sheds light on how fans listen to music across the globe, presenting a comprehensive analysis of modern audiences. All artists should check it out, as it has some really helpful information.

Pitching your playlist for consideration

The plan is now for all musicians to pitch their music directly to Spotify in the hopes that their music may be placed on a playlist curated by Spotify, starting from the middle of 2018. I suggest that you do all of them within minutes from within the Spotify For Artists account. From Spotify for Artists, you can do all of them. Among other things, here are some of the things you need to keep in mind.

The only way to pitch a song from an EP or album you took part in is to pitch it from its release. Therefore, if you participate in releasing an EP or album, you may only pitch a song from it.

To pitch tracks in a pre-release state to an audience for consideration, they must be pitched in advance. You have created and set a release date for your project on Spinnup (we recommend at least two weeks in the future); the project has been approved by our development team and is sitting in the ‘Upcoming’ tab of your SFA account.

We have dedicated an entire blog post to this topic because we believe it to be a valuable tool for artists.
